What's inside
The museum fills the 5,000-square-foot former Red Rooster Cafe, a building that appeared in the 1980 film The Jazz Singer. Inside are three display rooms and a gift shop:
- Rotating exhibits that follow Route 66 from pioneer trails to the present.
- Historic photographs and artifacts about what the highway meant for the local economy.
- A room on the history of Victorville itself.
The museum is run by Old Town Victorville Heritage Preservation, a volunteer group.
